Dr. Majid Al Salamah

Dr. Majid Al­Salamah is a graduate of the Collage of Medicine at King Saud University, specializing in Emergency Medicine. He completed his training in the University of Ottawa, and pursued an education in Epidemiology and completed a research fellowship at the University of Ottawa, which consisted of intensive graduate courses in Epidemiology.

In 2007, Dr. Al Salamah was appointed as Program Director at the Emergency Medicine of King Abdulaziz Medical City, and then later on was appointed as the Program Director of the Saudi Board of Emergency Medicine in 2009. Prior his appointment as the Dean of College of Public Health and Health Informatics in 2014, Dr. Al Salamah held the Associate Dean – Academic Affairs at the College of Applied Medical Sciences for two consecutive years. Devoted in setting a high standard of education and opening the doors of CPHHI to highly committed and gifted students, Dr. Al Salamah believes that the College’s and its graduates’ potentials should know no bound.

As a Secretary General, Saudi Health Council, I am responsible for coordination of the work between the health services providers in the public and private sectors and the regulating bodies.

In the research field, I participated as Principal Investigator in 22 of scientific researches in the areas of Maternal and Child Health, Primary Health Care and Immunization. I Published 104 scientific papers in peer-reviewed periodicals and journals, and published two books in Primary Health Care and Quality and 23 scientific reports.

I am Member of many scientific committees at the national, regional and international level; including Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunization. In the field of Polio Eradication, I am the chair of the Regional Certification Committee for Polio Eradication for Eastern Mediterranean Region and member of the Islamic Advisory Group on Polio Eradication.

Dr. Huda Al-Duwaisan is a graduate of Kuwait University’s College of Medicine and has received her fellowship in family medicine from the United Kingdom’s Royal College of General Practitioners.

She is currently the head of the Yarmouk Primary Health Care Clinic, which is recognized now as the first healthy city in Kuwait by the World Health Organization.

In addition, Dr. Al-Duwaisan is head of the Primary Health Care Faculty at the Kuwait Institute for Medical Specialization and is a trainer and examiner in the Family Medicine board in Kuwait.

She is also the head of the Association of Family Physicians and General Practitioners and vice head of Yarmouk District Council.

Dr. Al-Duwaisan has recently, in 2014, been included in the award for the Women in Science Hall of Fame by the Embassy of the United States in Kuwait.

Dr. Sherif Sakr is an associate professor in the Health Informatics department at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences. He is also affiliated with the University of New South Wales and DATA61/CSIRO. He received his PhD degree in Computer and Information Science from Konstanz University, Germany in 2007. Dr. Sakr held visiting appointments in several academic and research institutes including Microsoft Research (2011), Alcatel-Lucent Bell Labs (2012), Humboldt University of Berlin (2015), University of Zurich (2016) and TU Dresden (2016). In 2013, Sherif has been awarded the Stanford Innovation and Entrepreneurship Certificate. Dr. Sakr has published more than 100 refereed publications in reputable scientific outlets. He co-authored 4 books and co-edited 3 other books.

Received many appreciation letters and certificates. Also served the community in a number of leading positions and projects that includes Deputy President of Imam Mohamed bin Saud Charity Organization and Founding Member of Society of Community Education and Rehabilitation.

Prof. Mohamed Al-Moamary

Prof. Al-Moamary is the Vice President, Development and Quality Management, KSAU-HS since July 2013. He started his career in academia as the Director of Internal Medicine Residency Training Program (2002-2004) in the Department of Medicine at King Abdulaziz Medical City-Riyadh (KAMC-R). With the establishment of the College of Medicine at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences in 2004, he was a member of the commissioning committee. He was then appointed as the founding Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs (2006-2011) where he led the implementation of the curriculum at the KAMC-R and launched a faculty enhancement program. He also served as the Assistant Vice President for Educational Affairs (2010-2013). He was the author of a unique Framework for Medical Interns’ Competencies. He also led the innovative efforts to integrate Patient Safety in the College of Medicine curriculum. He was awarded a Master of Business Administration in Leadership and sustainability from University of Cumbria, UK in 2014. His thesis was titled “Authenticity of Academic Leadership and Career Development in Health Sciences Education”

In the clinical field, Prof. Al-Moamary is the Executive Director, Medical Services, KAMC-R, KSAU-HS, he is also a consultant in Pulmonary Medicine at KAMC since 1997. He is the founder of the first national pulmonary rehabilitation program in 2000. His area of interest is airway diseases namely Asthma and COPD. He has Published in respectable peer reviewed journals more than 50 papers in the area of airway diseases, education and leadership. He founded and chaired the Annual Asthma Meeting from 2001-2010. Prof. Al-Moamary is a member of the Administrative Board of the Saudi Thoracic Society where he has various contributions in the field of Pulmonary Medicine. He is also the founding Chairman and primary author of the Saudi Initiative for Asthma (SINA), the national guidelines for the diagnosis and management of asthma. He is a founding Editor-in Chief of the Annals of Thoracic Medicine from 2006 till date.

Prof. Al-Moamary is a graduate from College of Medicine, King Saud University, Riyadh in 1989. In 1994, he was awarded the Arab Board in Internal Medicine (ABIM) and the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in the UK (MRCP-UK). In 1996, he completed a Fellowship in Respiratory Medicine at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. The American College of Chest Physician elected him as a Fellow (FCCP) in 1999. The Royal Colleges of Physician of Edinburgh has also elected him as a fellow (FRCP-Edin) in 2007. He was awarded a Master of Business Administration in Leadership and sustainability (MBA-LS) from the University of Cumbria, UK in 2014.

Mostafa Abolfotouh is the Head of Biobanking Section at King Abdullah International Medical Research Center (KAIMRC), and a professor at King Saud bin-Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS), Ministry of National Guard, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He is a professor of Family Health in Alexandria University, Egypt and is a WHO/EMR Regional expert in Adolescent & School health. He is the Chief Editor of some regional & international journals such as; Journal of Public Health & Epidemiology and Journal of Continuous education & professional development and Saudi Journal of Obesity. Dr. Abdulrahman Jazieh is the Chairman, Department of Oncology, King Abdulaziz Medical City and a Professor at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He is also the founding Director of the MENA NCCN Coordinating Center, Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs, Riyadh Saudi Arabia.

He obtained his MD Degree from Damascus University, Syria and his Masters in Public Health from Tulane University, New Orleans. He completed his Fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology from University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Arkansas. He obtained American Boards of Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology.

He was a Professor of Medicine and Chief of Hematology Oncology Division at University of Cincinnati. Dr. Jazieh is a member of multiple US Professional society and he was a member of the International Affair Committee of ASCO

Dr. Jazieh won multiple honors and awards including proclamation to the City of Cincinnati naming the day of January 5, 2006 as Dr. Abdul Rahman Jazieh Day.
